Mindy Beach / Owner
Mindy teaches Yoga full time and has over 17,500 hours of instruction to her credit. She has been a student and teacher for over 15 years. Her passion for the joys and wonder of Yoga began in 2006 as she was seeking ways to work through anxiety, depression and the stress of raising three young children. She was instantly drawn to the physical nature of this art form. Yoga inspired a deep and meaningful curiosity of the human anatomy. She has never stopped pursuing a broad knowledge of Yoga and its impact on the body, learning the needs and goals of each of her students and designing the perfect practice to achieve their goals. The physical portion of her practice brought her to the deeper purpose of Yoga, the nurturing of spirit and the mind-body connection. She incorporates all of these components into her teaching to help guide each of her students to a place of peace and love.
With the encouragement of her first teacher, Peg Mulqueen, Mindy earned her 200hr certification with a strict focus on Baptiste Power Yoga. She has completed her 300hr advanced studies with Faith Hunter, in Washington D.C. With this additional training Mindy has discovered a deeper sense of the spiritual components of Yoga. Mindy is committed to become an instructor of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan. She is currently registered for the 2019 Immersion, New Mexico- Aquarian Teacher Training Level 1- Foundations.
She adds the Kundalini dynamic breathing techniques, meditation and chanting of mantras in most of her classes.
Her classes are rich in humor, joy and moving music. The energy emanating from her own practice serves to guide others to their own love affair with Yoga. She is adept at providing the path of self-discovery for each of her students. Whether it’s your first class or one-hundredth you will inevitably feel at ease.
In the last eleven years Mindy has opened two wonderful studios, presented or taught at many corporate, wellness events throughout the DC metro area, as well as designing private practices for hundreds of individual practitioners. She collaborates with local chiropractors, physical therapist and other alternative health care professionals to add the healing powers of Yoga to their disciplines.
Mindy has hand-picked her teachers for their kindness, depth of practice and passion for teaching. Each of them brings a special addition to this warm and welcoming studio. She has been blessed to bear witness to the powerful effects that Yoga has had on her students and their pursuit of physical, mental and spiritual health. She has devoted her practice to continue to spread the power of Yoga’s gifts.
Maribeth Cronin / Yoga Teacher
As a nursing student in college, Maribeth took her first aerobics class and discovered how much she enjoyed group fitness classes. She then earned her group fitness certification through AFAA and began teaching aerobics in college and at a local YMCA. After having a family and a career as an intensive care nurse, Maribeth took her first vinyasa yoga class with Mindy Beach in 2007 and found a new passion. She took classes for 10 years before realizing it was time to deepen her knowledge and love of yoga and in 2017 completed her 200hr YTT through Feeling Fine Yoga School, led by Rachel Perez and Alexandra Patton.
Maribeth enjoys teaching gentle and vinyasa yoga practices as well as senior and chair yoga, that are light, creative and energetic and that encourages students to find a confidence and contentment within themselves, regardless of experience. She strongly believes that yoga is a uniquely scalable and accessible instrument to improve the quality of life, fitness and flexibility of those less mobile. In addition to teaching yoga, Maribeth has been teaching barre classes since 2014. She enjoys the fast pace, low impact, strength training that a barre class offers. Regardless if she is teaching yoga or barre, Maribeth always strives to make her students feel warm, welcomed and fulfilled at the end of a class.
