Angela’s first experience with Yoga was a Hatha yoga class as a young student at a two-year school. Her feeling of connection with, and love for, Yoga took root instantly. She continued the practice while earning her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology at a four-year university. While a full time student of sociology, her pastime was Vinyasa yoga: She fell in love with its postures, fluid movements and deep breathing.
After moving to the warm Purcellville community, she quickly discovered Yoga Time Studio and studied under Mindy Beach. There, she appreciated the warmth, fun, skill and knowledge gleaned from her instruction.
At that time Angela was an experienced Substance Abuse Counselor for Fairfax County, working with women at a residential facility, where she taught healthy coping mechanisms and treated trauma. She found yoga to be a positive way to deal with the stress of her life. In 2015 she gave birth and became a stay-at-home mom, during which time Yoga provided an expressive outlet for stress relief and anxiety reduction.
She began attending classes at Yoga Time Studio regularly and realized that yoga was more then a hobby: It was a passion. She strengthened and refined her practice under the tutelage of Mindy Beach, who encouraged her to become a 200 hour certified Vinyasa yoga instructor; a dream realized after intensive training. Yoga Time Studio became a home away from home for Angela and a retreat from life’s stresses.
Angela brings to her classes a focus on healing through breath, movement of the postures, meditations, and chakra work. She infuses humor and fun to the practice. She enjoys getting to know her students, hearing their stories, and helping them grow in their practice. The connection between mind, body, and spirit have benefited her in every way and she wants to share the same with others.
